Art in Year 3 (2023-2024) summer term
In Year 3, the children stepped back in time to the Stone Age to create their own cave art, inspired by real life examples from prehistoric times. Using pastels, they drew and coloured hunting scenes and handprints selecting natural tones. In addition, they have created a Stone Henge silhouette picture. The children have developed their painting skills by blending and layering watercolours to create a sunset background on which they used pieces of black paper to build the silhouette. Whilst learning about the ancient Egyptians, the children designed and made a death mask and produced a painting of Tutankhamun?s death mask and a scarab beetle.
