Creative Week - Year 3 Art Work

In Year 3, the children focused on the artist Pablo Picasso. They researched a lot about his life and were drawn to his 'Blue Period' where he showed his emotions through the colour he used in his artwork. The week began by listening to different pieces of music during which the children moved their pencils in a way that reflected how the music made them feel. After thinking about what colours they associated with different emotions, they agreed upon on red for anger, blue for sadness, yellow for joy and green for envy. The children incorporated these colours into their own abstract self-portrait to show emotion in the style of Picasso.
