Creative Week - Reception Art Work

In Reception, the children have been learning about Chinese New Year. For Creative Week, they continued with this learning by exploring ancient Chinese paintings, focusing on one in particular called 'Birds in Four Seasons'. Using this artwork as inspiration, the children created their own seasonal pictures do show the changes in seasons over the course of year. The children used different media to create their pictures including colour mixing and painting, collage and adding features for effect such as glitter. They enjoyed talking about the different things that grow and change over the year and tried to think of ways to add some of these observations into their pictures. Following this, the children enjoyed tasting some Chinese food and recreating Chinese dragon dances.
