Futsal Champions 2018

Thanks to the 13 teams who attended our Futsal Festival at Mark Hall Academy Sports Centre, it was an absolute pleasure to organise and be involved in; yet again the tournament has got bigger and better since its introduction last year. The standard of play throughout was really high and once everyone was clear about the rules and styles of play, the performances certainly warranted more Futsal events later in the year.

Teams from: Church Langley (A and B), Tanys Dell (A and B), St Lukes, The Downs (A and B),  Little Parndon, Cooks Spinney, St Nicholas, Freshwaters, Churchgate and St Albans came together to play in 4 groups. There was plenty of goal-mouth action in the fast-paced format; the children adapted to the new rules with confidence and certainly benefitted from being able to watch other teams in action.

Having played their group matches and two very close semi-finals, the final was contested between Church Langley A and St Nicholas; it was an epic encounter with Church Langley just sneaking a single goal lead to take the trophy.
