Get Your Kit On Day 2016 - HUGE Success

Thank you to all the staff, parents and children who made an amazing effort to ensure our 'Get Your Kit On Day' was such a huge success. The morning began with Mr Stacey leading a whole-school assembly, sharing with the children where the money they had raised will go and what an amazing impact it will make. (see information below)

Following the assembly, all the children took a turn to venture onto the all-weather pitch to take part in a series of fun football themed activities lead by Mr Stacey, Mrs Pardoe and Mr Pardoe. The children enjoyed showing off their dribbling and passing skills before scoring lots of goals in a frantic 'Go Score!' activitiy which saw the staff members trying desperately to protect their goal (and themselves!) from mutliple footballs. The afternoon culminated in a traditional staff v kids match. The children of Key Stage 2 made for a hostile crowd as 'their' team came from 5-3 down to win 7-5 in the final game. The pitch looked amazing with all the different kits and colours on display - it really was a special atmosphere.

Overall the children raised an incredible £465 through their donations. The staff and school have agreed to increase this amount to a grand total of £550 which will be presented to Basildon Soccability Frame Football Team. This local team will be using the funds to purchase equipment to enable children with SEND to particpate in the game they love.
