Year 3/4 Sleepover Fun!
Posted On: 12 May 2015
There was a distinct lack of sleep as the tired bodies departed Church Langley early on Saturday morning, the carnage from the night before had been cleared away by the 'cleaning-fairies' but nothing could erase such a 'wild' evening. Arriving just after 7pm, 139 children from Years 3 and 4 excitedly dumped their sleeping bags and pillows ready for some fun games. With Mr Stacey (our resident red-coat) in full swing, everyone had to crawl, dance, dunk and bob their way through a series of wacky challenges designed to excite, dampen and smother! No-one was safe, not even Mrs Ward!
Following the fun games, the children ventured onto the all-weather pitch for a spot of late night 'playtime' in the pouring rain! Once back inside the children played hide and seek around some classrooms (many were too scared to venture into the 'haunted library - apparently the red-handed ghost had returned?), whilst other boogied away at karaoke. The highlight of many students (and adults) was the infamous 'Escape from Colditz' torch game. Many tried to evade being recognised but few succeed; try as they might (and that included swapping clothing, using large tunnels and even hiding behind umbrellas!) only the sneakiest players managed to secure that elusive prize.
With the fun of the games behind them, the children settled into the hall with copious amount of sweets and proceeded to scoff and chat the night away. With the clock showing quarter to 3, the film was turned off and the torch lights extinguished; it was at this point the snoring began! Thankfully the vast majority of the children managed to get at least a couple of hours sleep before the morning arrived.
A massive thank you to all the children and adults involved with the 2015 Sleepover - yet again Church Langley staff go above and beyond to enrich the experience of their pupils - great work everyone!
