CL celebrates the Queen's 70th Jubilee
Posted On: 07 June 2022
Once again the children, parents, family members and staff of Church Langley went the 'extra mile' in celebrating the amazing achievement of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's 70th Year as Monarch.
Over 1,000 spectators braved the cold temperatures on Wednesday to join all the pupils on the all-weather pitch; the large crowd was entertained by each year group performing their own unique tribute to Her Majesty. The Reception children marched like Royal Guards; the Year 1 children took us back in time as Pearly Kings and Queen's from the East End; the Year 2's drummed and played glockenspiels alongside Queen's 'We Will Rock You!'; the Year 3's sang and signed their way through Dancing Queen by Abba; the Year 4's danced and waltzed their way into the crowd's hearts; the Year 5 performed a Cheer-inspired medley of Queen-themed songs; and the Year 6's maypoled in addition to some amazing readings about the life during Her Majesty's reign.

On Friday, the children partied together and the celebrations concluded with a Hat Parade - thank you parents and family members for all the efforts; they were amazing! Following the Hat Parade, two pupils assisted in planting a special Platinum Jubilee Silver Birch which is located by the pond area. Finally, the children played Queen-inspired games with their friends before the busy week concluded.
